I don't have a website, but I did see a show about it, and knew of a few before then. Supposedly, a guy back in the...1800s (?) claimed he was a prophet and got a whole bunch of people together to pray the day the world he predicted would end. It didn't end, so he rescheduled it a lot after that.
The dates I know are: New Year's Eve 1999/NYD 2000, June 6, 2006, and December 21, 2012
There have been 1000s of predictions for the end of the world.
We've outlived them all. Most recently was the 12/21/2012 prediction that was supposedly made by the Mayans.
We're still here.
While it's possible something could happen to us the chances are relatively small - as in "you have a better chance of being struck by lightning after winning the lottery" small. Barring something like that, the Earth will be around for another 4-6 BILLION years, until our sun turns into a Red Giant, growing so large that its diameter is larger than that of the diameter of Mars.
So your friend has nothing to worry about unless he plans on being around 4-6 billion years from now.
Last year we had May 21, Oct 21 and Dec 21 doomsday flops. Most likely they come from religion that's always saying that the end is near, so you'd better shape up.
Spme are written, some are made up....guarnateed if you tell someone on this site the world is going to end next year, they will freak out....we will hear it from the first day they read it until the day the world is suppose to end.

I'm tryin' to prove a point to a friend of mine. But I can't seem to find an accurate list of all the "end of the world" predictions. Does anyone have a website, list, memory, of a lot of the dates people predicted the apocalypse, judgement day, and end of the world?
Where did these predictions come from? Or the reason they gave?
