Nazis are the distraction. They are cool villains but at the end of the day the most fascinating thing about that time was hyperinflation. When leaders loose control of power the currency starts to haemorrhage and states fail. This is the true lesson of 1923. That and the fact that the treaty of Versailles was a failed attempt to assert control. Look how that turned out for them. Now the West has lost Syria and all the old skeletons are coming out of the closet. Nazis are gone but were dealing with a world that could face hyperinflation again.
Like? No. Fascinated by? Yes. The Nazis, including Hitler, were a divergent group of people, from PhDs(rare), to street thugs. Yet they managed to gain control of a country, and somehow shambled along to threaten most of the world, directly or indirectly. You can't even call what they did a government, as they were always changing the rules as they went, and it was more of a case of Nazi leaders grabbing and using power, while fending off competitors, and trying to please Hitler, who intentionally or not played other Nazi leaders against each other.
No. There was nothing to like about the Nazi Party. They were a loathsome group of the worst sadists, torturers, and murderers the world has seen in thousands of years.
It's going to be weird to say, but I did like the group on a scientific level. I didn't agree with them slaughtering the Jewish people, but they were well ahead of their time technologically. If Hitler had calmed down a little bit, the Nazi scientists were involved with UFO tech and things that weren't even imaginable back then. The building and constructs they were planning for were amazing. Besides being very cult-like and murders, they were smart :P
They were feared back trhen. Luckily, most Nazi's are dead and gone. Now we have the liberal progressive fascists and muslims trying to rule the world. Evil rises up repeatedly and, so far, has been beaten back.
