Those who are opposed to Pres Obama have accused him of not telling the public the truth. The State Dept has said they did not have the information. There was either not enough security, or there was a plot to kill the ambassador in spite of the security. We dont know yet.
Perhaps they were Quadaffi's relatives who attacked. Perhaps they were angry about American military presence. Perhaps it was part of the Arab revolutions and people in poverty were rioting and the Ambassador was a convenient target. We dont yet know.
Based on what I have seen of Obama over the past almost four years, I would say the greater possibility is that he was lying to put a spin on the issue that the government wanted. I take everything the government says with several grains of salt; they do, after all, have an agenda that does not square with what most Americans want. So they will spin things to suit their agenda. As later facts came out, then they had to backtrack on what they said earlier, even though I think they knew the truth of it all along. The Administration may be idiots, but they're not stupid.
Ya dude i have no idea where you heard the whole "didn't give security to the ambassador" ya that's a load of bullshit, their in a hostile country of course their is security plus it was a coordinated attack on the embassy not just the ambassador so he was not the only one to die. the real cause was an anti-Islamic video released by some idiot redneck which basically said that their prophet Muhammad was a pimp, illiterate, rapist. which would be like a Muslim saying Jesus was a retarded, rapist, lying, robber. and if that happened im more than sure that we would see thousands of people going HAM and protesting. the reason they went after the american ambassador was because the video was uploaded to youtube in america so the whole Muslim world thought that this was the whole few of america which extremely pissed them off causing the whole Muslim world to go into a frenzy of demonstrations and protests.

If there was a request for more security, the request was never passed on to the president.
This may have been an oversight, or could even been an attempt to make the president look bad.
I am sure there is an investigation ongoing to get to the bottom of this mess, and the facts will be forthcoming.

A few days ago, trying to appeal to women voters in Ohio he said "There's no legislation with regards to abortion that I'm familiar with that would become part of my agenda.”

He CANNOT tell you classified information What he can tell you leaves gaps in the truth so a seemingly plausible story is given.

Ok so I'm kinda confused. I know that our ambassador was killed a few weeks back (RIP) but people are saying different things and I don't know which is true. Some say that he claims that there was a riot in Libya over an "anti-Muslim" video to cover up the fact that he didn't give security to the ambassador who was being threatend and asking for help and that's why he got killed. Then there are others who say it really was over a video. I don't know who to believe and I can't really watch the news and I when I google it I get both sides of the story and that's well, useless. So is there any source that could tell me straight up what happened? What do you think? Please no political commentary on anything other than THIS issue. (people seem to get off topic when talking about politics)
