What you are noticing is an increase in the spread of conspiracy theories, as well as other misinformation/disinformation due to the 24 hour news cycle, the internet, and (probably the worst) forwarded e-mail hoaxes.
There have, no doubt, been conspiracies against individuals, or groups of people throughout the years - but the vast majority of the ones you hear about are b.s. (and yes - I'm telling you that because I'm part of the conspiracy).
There have always been crazy conspiracy theories and crazy conspiracy theorists.
Go to any large city's public park and look for the homeless guy yelling at the pigeons (because they're the only ones who will listen) about government alien mind control rays.
There's some guy near me who has covered his minivan with an argument that he claims proves that John Denver was murdered by the government as part of cover-up.
With the internet, it's just a lot easier for these local crazies to meet up, and publish their theories.
some are now a days but u must reserch yourself i my self have been studing for years and i will tell that the illuminati is and its every where( US dollar bill ) the all seeing eye on top a pyrmid, Drake, rihanna, lady gaga, justin beiber , beyonce , miley cyrus all of them r in its not hard to bloody tell when rihanna wears a jacket with the all seeing eye or mabey JayZ the biggest illuminati rat in the buisness. Dont be 2 blind 2 C the symbols are everywhere. There are far less believable Illuminati theories, like fluoride in water and chem trails, and *all* the "signs" in music videos (some are believable, some are just grabbing for air).
But then I could believe the signs are from demons.. like the 9-11 attack on the dollar bill. I can't believe a human said, "let's turn the dollar precisely into an image of the attack" because you'd have to say, "attack the buildings exactly like this (image)". But I can believe demons (or angels to warn?) are behind the signs (in music videos as well) (considering revelations)
Maybe it wasn't a man made conspiracy. Maybe demons were behind influencing (like the dollar bill) the music video and the timing of it all...

They have always been exaggerated really, I can't think of one that is not. The only conspiracy theory I buy into is the Kennedy assassination because I think that "magic bullet theory" is crap, not only was it impossible physics wise but also there were too many people who would benefit from JFK's death.
It has been scientifically proven that "the conspiratorial mindframe" is actually a mental issue caused by feelings of powerlessness and chaos. When the world feels wrong and chaotic you need to find greater reason, an order in chaos. The "worldwide conspiracy" offers all of that.
Ok I'm a BIG fan of Conspiracy Theories, I don't really believe in them but I found them very fascinating. Ok some theories sound like they could be true, Like Area 51, Roswell, JFK and all that, but over the years people like Alex and Ventura have really exaggerated some theories. I mean especially Alex Jones, I mean EVERY shooting attack doesn't necessarily connect to the government or Illuminati(p.s Illuminati conspiracy biggest bullshit conspiracy I have ever heard of). Like he tries to connect the Aurora shootings to the CIA and Hollywood!! And he did the same with the Norway shootings. I mean at what point is it just psycho people who just made a decision on their own to go out and kill a lot of people. At what point can we accept these things as coincidences?
