Are people making a big deal about Trayvon Martin news?

I believe the media has gotten what they were seeking, to get things heated up. There's a lot of wrongs to go around. So many that now it's about racism, muder for hire . Also let's not forget the opportunists, Sharpton, Jackson, etc. No two wrongs make a right. This does need investigating, but all this other needs to stop!!! Also Zimmerman isn't just white he is also Hispanic, just like the president isn't only black.

This case is NOT being handled PROPERLY. I don't think it's overrated bottom line an ARMED MAN shot and KILLED an UNARMED TEEN. He has not been charged yet, there's no evidence that Trayvon Martin was any real threat to Zimmerman. A scuffle (fight) does NOT WARRANT the use of DEADLY FORCE (with a weapon) because the injuries on Zimmerman were not serious (there was NO sign of Trayvon trying to strangle or choke Zimmerman or use a weapon since NO WEAPON was found on Martin). It's an injustice, that's why people are angry, the racial thing is created by the media and not unwarranted either. Another problem Zimmerman has A RECORD for ASSAULT on a POLICE OFFICER, what IDIOT gave this guy a GUN and made him head of a neighborhood watch?

The problem is that when the police first showed up at the scene, they didn't do an investigation. Zimmerman told them it was self defense and the cops agreed and left.

That is not standard procedure.

The reason people are saying it's racism is because Zimmerman is White, Trayvon was Black, and the cops are White. This took place in Florida, where such examples of lopsided "justice" were commonplace even into the late 1960s before the Civil Rights Act was signed into law.

I agree that people are too quick to throw the race card but in this instance, it might actually be justified, unfortunately. I mean, can you explain why the cops didn't do a proper forensic investigation, and haven't announced why they haven't taken Zimmerman into custody? If you look at articles covering other incidents - like that soccer foul thing on Yahoo's front page - you invariably read about the cops' ongoing investigation, how and why they came to a conclusion, taking people into custody if necessary, etc. In the case of the shooting of Trayvon, NONE OF THAT HAS HAPPENED and the shooting was over a month ago.

True enough, self defense is not a crime, and if that were truly the case here then folks wouldn't have any issue. Unfortunately the few facts the cops have released don't make a clear case for self defense.

First and foremost, if Zimmerman is the one that instigated the confrontation, can he still claim self defense?

Second, if Trayvon was on the phone with his girlfriend and told her he was scared because someone (Zimmerman) was following him, why would he turn and tackle him?

Third, why are there all these other unanswered questions that throw doubt on Zimmerman's story? Such as, if Zimmerman really did suffer several blows to the head and a broken nose, how come he's seen walking around with no apparent injuries shortly after the supposed fight? Most of the time, a broken nose results in a lot of blood yet there wasn't any of that present on Zimmerman's face of jacket/shirt either. And if he did have cuts and bruises on his face, why didn't the cops photograph this? Even claiming self defense, oftentimes the person still has to go to court to present his side of the story. Things like photographic evidence of injuries sustained would help with justifying his actions. Why didn't Zimmerman see a doctor about his injuries? For all he knows, Trayvon could have given him a concussion with that sort of thrashing. Can the doctor attest to these injuries - including the broken nose?

If Trayvon did beat up Zimmerman, how come the coroner claims Trayvon's hands don't show signs of fighting - no cuts or bruises or other marks? Human skulls are quite hard, and punching one repeatedly with your fists is going to hurt.

Then there's the gunshot wound. If Zimmerman shot Trayvon while Trayvon was on top of him, why wasn't Trayvon's blood found on Zimmerman's shirt or jacket? Especially from a point-blank gunshot wound? Was the gunshot wound on Trayvon even point-blank? If not, then that too contradicts Zimmerman's story.

It's been over a month since the shooting. Much of the critical evidence - including eye-witness accounts - should have been collected back then. By now, it's become tainted, or in the case of Zimmerman's wounds, gone away. As a result it would be very hard to press any sort of serious charge against Zimmerman, and even a lesser charge, like accidental manslaughter, for instance would still have a hard time sticking because it's all going to come down to the account of Zimmerman since he's the only living witness who "saw" the whole thing.

However there's far too many questions remaining to simply write this off as self defense. Yet the cops refuse to do anything.

well i think it is a big deal.

zimmerman just randomly saw this kid and thought he looked suspicious. what was it that made him look suspicious? he was walking, wearing a hoodie with a bottle of ice tea and skittles, and this guy is following him. he's not even following him discreetly, trayvon noticed, so it was like stalkerish.

imagine if a stranger came up to you, followed you and asked you what are you doing around here?

if you listen to the audio tape on youtube, you could hear zimmerman say what sounds like fu**ing coons. not goons as his lawyer says. this is a racist thing to say!

and then at the end of this all, trayvon ends up dead, and zimmerman's word is taken right there. how is it self defense if he followed him? he instigated a problem just by stalking him. he's not in uniform. trayvon doesn't know he's some neighborhood watch man. if i had a guy following me like that you better believe i would take out my pepper spray, spray it at him and run as fast as i could.

and then the police screwed up with the handling of the case too. they drug tested trayvon and tested him for alcohol but didn't do that to zimmerman! why not?!

also, there is a witness who said they saw trayvon on top punching him but listen carefully to what that witness said. he said "zimmerman was wearing a red sweater." zimemrman was actually wearing a red tshirt. he is no longer credible in my book.

in addition, those screams that you hear in another phone call on youtube sound like a teenager's, certainly not zimmerman's. I don't know, maybe it is because I am 20 and can diffferentiate between the 2 pretty well, but i know that that is the voice of a teenager.

Yeah... I guess They've just gotten Tired of all the Political "blather" that's been in the News lately. And now They just want to Obsess about Something- Else. ;)

aayyoooo You write like you were there if you were tell the law, if not let, the law handle it

i mean on every news channel, they're talking about it. i think it's overrated. & now black people think that it was racist, which i don' see how it was, since they said trayvon started punching zimmerman. i honestly think black people and other races will never get along. that's just my opinion. It's gonna probably take them 5 months to figure out what to do with zimmerman. what do you guys think?
