Y&R ...... One of the reasons?

The old BIlly was sexy and had chemistry with VIctoria and Kelly. David Tom is just not attractive and has that little whiney voice.

Viewers just couldn't accept him as a replacement for the very popular Billy Miller. They recast too abruptly and he came in at a difficult time. It could've been done better and really I think he's a victim of all the mismanagement at Y&R lately.

I thought years ago he wasn't a bad actor, he played the original Billy for a long time. But he looks very young for his age, so does Heather Tom. Irl I don't think he's that stable, he's had some issues, and I think it may have unfortunately affected the development of his acting. I saw him on a talk show and I don't know, he seemed a bit all over the place. But he came in at a bad time and had big shoes to fill, so he hasn't really been given much of a chance.

Things must be a mess behind the scenes at Y&R... firing an actor after just a few months, I don't know how many people have come and gone lately. The ratings are dropping so they are in panic mode and their response is they fire the new guy. The real issues with the show however go much deeper.

Instead of David Tom going it should be JFP - he's not the reason why ratings are falling, it's because of her. It's just shifting the blame to protect herself.

He does look younger than he is. And he has a small frame. He looks pretty silly trying to get in Stitch's face!

But I really think the true reason is that he just doesn't fit the part. And his acting skills aren't great. All he does is the angry thing. He doesn't show any other emotions very well.

I'm calling BS on this, not saying David Tom is lying but I think the producers aren't being truthful about why they fired him. There was never any intention to pair Kelly/Billy together, it was a one night thing with them that BOTH regretted right away, there was nothing between them after, so David Tom being fired for that makes no sense. Actually what makes even less sense is David Tom is 35 and Billy Miller was 32, so that's a complete crock of **** he was fired for his age, and actually I'm not even sure that's legal what they did because it's discrimination.

There clearly has to be more to this, who knows maybe DT acted like an asshole on the set and they had enough of him, maybe the producers just wanted to take the character of Billy Abbot in a new direction... either way he wasn't fired for his age.

That could be a possibility. But I think that he just didn't fit in as Billy.

I don't really care about Y&R now. They fired too many good actors. Y&R is too boring now.

I don't think they should fired David Tom... but he doesn't act like

a dysfunctional Billy.

He might of played the part of Billy years ago but now he just doesn't fit the part and yes he doesn't look old enough to be Victoria's husband. To me he cant act worth a dern.

Well he did look too young even for Victoria.

I think this guy is an airhead since he can't tell why he was let go....Geez...

David Tom was let go .... they said they let me go is that I obviously looked too young when they placed me with [the new] Kelly. Well, she was hired after I was. I don't understand why they didn't think about that [when they were casting her]. We don't really have a storyline [anyway]; She's with Jack. I thought I looked fine with Missy [Claire Egan, Chelsea]. I really loved working with her."

Now we know.
