It wouldn't have been pretty or pleasant.
The towers collapsed - the floors above fell on the floor below, causing it to fall on to the floor below it, and so on and so on.
So the people trapped inside would have been crushed when the floor above, fell on them. Hopefully they didn't suffer.
Those who fell out of the building, would have fallen for a number of seconds before they hit the ground which I'm pretty sure would have killed them instantly. However, I would not want to live my last few seconds in pure terror like that.
most likely the floor above them would have just crashed down on them and they would have been quickly crushed
it was probably so fast for them though
kevin cosgrove was on the phone when the towers collapsed - that is one recorded famous footage of 9/11
hopefully they did not feel pain, hopefully it was too fast for them to suffer
much like the flights passengers and crew
many were trapped in all of the smoke though and flames too - i guess different endings for everyone that day
The weight of each tower was approximately 280,000 tonnes. It collapsed at an average speed of 8.62 m/s.
What do you think happened to those inside?
I hated that day, and I hate reliving our shared pain. Nothing good comes from rehashing this on youtube. The closer you get to understanding the pain experienced by those involved, the more depressing it becomes. Shredded, burned, pulped. There ya go.
I imagine some of them that were close to the fire burned. Others were probably crushed as the building collapsed.
The deaths were attributed to the following
- Asphyxiation from smoke and debris
- Crushed to death.
- Falling which leads to organ damage.
- Burning to death
- Lacerations.
- Initial blast
Disintegrated would be an appropriate word to use here.
It was a huge compression
So I have been watching some videos on youtube lately about 9/11 and I was wondering what really happened to the people inside the buildings as the tower fell... Did there bodies just get torn up? Or did they suffocate? I have been trying to figure out what would happen to someone if they were in a building that fell like the towers did.
