Probably Not
People are better informed these days and jingoistic patriotism could not be sustained to the scale which would be needed for a country to accept the draft.
the only time the government would risk using the draft, is if they had no choice. It would be immensely unpopular and the government that brought it in would suffer
at the moment, the US does not need the draft because poverty drives people into the military as a way to get a job - along with training and education without having to put themselves into debt for the rest of their lives
Do you mean in the United States ? In peacetime as in Britain there is no need for national service when there is a ready supply of volunteers who do it for a career. People who enlist by choice always make better service people.Britain has been defended for centuries by volunteers, and it was only towards the end of the first world war and in the second did the need for men make conscription essential.
I dont see any reason America should need what you call the Draft in the next 20 years.?
I do not see that happening . Only if the US elects a war hungry President who wants the draft badly !
No. As long as college is unaffordable for the 99%, people will join the Army to afford college.
Fortunately America will always have a populace that is gladly willing to defend the country.
Wars for profit and oil I'm not actually sure about that; i don't think so.
