Where was it exactly and how big
The quake last night (around 11:30 pm) was a magnitude of 4.4 (no injuries reported.) U.S. Geological Survey shows the location of a total of 31 small earthquakes over the last week in and around California. Last nights earthquake's epicenter was just a couple of miles east of Yorba Linda (about 35 miles from LA.) The quake this am could be another aftershock or another quake altogether.
flower, i can relate to your opinion.
i lived and worked in s.f. for 30 yrs. lived throught the quake of 1989.
4.5 is insignificant to me. i felt tremors all the time and could differentiate.
i thought that when the '89 quake occured. oh well, i got it.
now, due to my job i am in the midwest. tornado threats, blizzards, storms with golf ball sized hail scare me worse than a quake.
i always say give me a quake. i know what to do. i cannot quite acclimate to the others. i am learning though.
Yorba Linda 4.4 last night and 4.5 at 9:33 am
This map is updated with current quake activity. Last night - approx. 4.4. At 9:33AM today, Approx 1.5 in Yorba Linda again.... I felt both.
You should know that if there is a quake in So Cal it is not felt in Nor Cal or central Cal. I am near San Francisco and heard nothing about any quake or tremor.
Yorba Linda. 4.5
