When do news reporters sleep?

Most likely the news reporters do not have a typical 9-5 job. Just like many other public service jobs such as firemen, police and doctors their shifts may be a set start time but actually are on the job until the assignment they are on end. This could be an hour up to even 8-10 hours later. They may also have a job where they are on call - perhaps a few set hours a week and partially on call for when a story breaks when they go to the scene and stay until another a reporter takes over.

Many jobs have a schedule where they are on the job for 3 days straight and then 3 days off also. Think of the firemen in particular. They stay at the firehouse but when a call comes in they are on the job fighting that fire (with breaks) until the fire is out.

lol news reporters do sleep too. There are simply different shifts with different reporters handling them. For example there could be 4 people for the night shift. Two come in about 9pm and work till about 2am, then the other two take over from 2am and finish up at 7am. By 7am, those for the morning shift are already around and they take over...and so on and so forth.

Hope that made sense :)

The news reporters (whoever they are?) must work on a shift system round the clock like I did when I was on the steel works. I worked 6am to 2pm for 2 days then 2pm till 10 pm for 2 days and 10 pm till 6 am (nights) the others did as well so it was constantly covered.

You don't see the same reporters on all day...

...curious...

At like 3am the news is on and it can last until seven then it goes off. But that's usually when people are sleeping so do they go to sleep at like 3pm or do they go to bed like right after they stop broadcasting?
