To engage in war to profit, banks, crony politicians via backdoor kickbacks, and government contractors.
911 is perfect because as destructive as all the event were, the word 'terrorist' has been used over and over to drill fear of safety into the Americans way of thinking. Since we're not safe, now we need the TSA, which is expanding btw as a standing army.

well basically America was being really mean to middle eastern countries, especially countries like Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
so obviously these muslim majority countries will want to seek revenge.
so they crashed the twin towers.
However this wasn't just chance they crashed into the towers as it was an economical figure.
Though Al'Qaida shouldn't have crashed into such a big building and killed many innocent lives, America is also at fault for the groups anger as they shouldn't have mistreated these countries.

DISCLAIMER: I am not and I repeate NOT a "truther" or a conspiracy theorist! I do not dispute the fact that the 9/11 attacks were planned and orchestrated by Al Qaida. But the ostensible motive for the attacks which is because they "hate our freedoms" and believe they were going to heaven for what they did just doesn't add up. Religion and politics cannot be divorced from one another and religious extremism always has a political motive. What exactly did Bin Laden himself have to gain politically and monetarily from doing this?
