There was like a debate , whether if it was a scam or if it was real , but it was probably a scam that's why no one cares about it anymore.

Kony2012 was successful in scamming thousands of people into spending millions of dollars on garbage that had "Kony2012" stamped on it. That was always the only purpose of the website. The owner didn't really care about Kony or the Invisible Children cause, which itself was another scam.

If you think about it, the whole stated purpose of Kony2012 is pretty stupid. Raise money for the capture of Kony? Kony hasn't been seen alive in almost a decade. In fact the last time he was spotted, it was while running south, leaving the country. Plaster your city with stickers and posters that simply say "KONY2012" on them? How is littering helping your cause? And I'm guessing most people would mistake the flyers as some sort of political campaign, you know, like "Obama 2012" or "Romney 2012".

Unfortunately I did see a few misguided folks putting up posters in my area late at night. Then just a few hours later, the sanitation crew went through the area and sprayed everything down with their power hoses. So all their money and work was literally flushed down the drain before the dawn.

It looks like they are not going to catch Kony this year. But there is always next year.

No, it is not a scam. Kony and others like him have been kidnapping African children and forcing them to kill for decades. It does not make a lot of news in the US because it does not change the balance of power between the USA, its allies, and its enemies. But it is real and horrible.

There are also organizations working to rehabilitate former child soldiers. There are several documentaries available that tell about the victims or Kony's "Lord's Resistance Army": "Grace, Millie, Lucy ... Child Soldiers" and "Soldier Child" specifically about Kony's victims.

I do hope they kill the guy.
