The Conservatives did not bring the Olympics to London - it was Labour, the supposed working man's party, that spent millions bidding for the games, and put aside billions to build them. It's pretty stupid to say 'billions are wasted on the Olympics so don't vote Tory' when the two are very much nothing to do with each other. 'Billions are being wasted on the Olympics so don't vote Labour' would be more accurate.
The problem is not with the Olympics, it is good for London to host this 2012 Olympics. However, the problem is that there are many part-time jobs that have been created to facilitate the Olympics and those jobs are not sustainable once the Olympics is over, so what are those people going to do, that is the real issue here.
There is going to be no doubt many under 25 that will be working in these part-time jobs and most of them will not be living at home so when Cameron cut their housing benefits what are these individuals going to do, run back home, suppose they do not parents homes to go to, then what.
Labour are the ones that got the Olympics and set the budget for it about £4 Billion wasn't it until they revised it upwards, but then labour were good at that which is why we are in the brown and smelly we are.
And who says Comedy Cameron will still be there in 2015, I would lay money on him being challenged this Autumn.
Define vunerable? Also rich-mans Tory Party and then again post your concerns.
There are a lot of people making lots of money from these ridiculous games, all off the backs of the taxpayers !
Well said Kit fully agree
The billions upon billions being spent on the London 2012 Olympics is a total disgrace whilst Cameron is looking ahead post the 2015 General Election , where he presumes that the British voters will vote for his rich-man's Tory Party , so that they can remove themselves from the responsibility of looking after the vunerable in our land.
