It's the whole "zero tolerance" mentality at work. They would call both a streaker and a child molester "sex offenders," while there is no relationship between the two.

I think it's absolutely horrible that the school "authorities" and local police would overreact so terribly to something as simple and harmless as nudity and streaking. They were threatening to put him on a sex offender list with people who actually commit rape. They were going to destroy this kid's life over a joke, a simple harmless prank, instead of just saying "don't do it again". It's no wonder he killed himself; he saw no other way out of the terrible life that was ahead of him because of the insane overreactions of people who have way too much power. They pushed him to it, so they should all be charged with at least manslaughter or negligent homicide.
Yes, absolutely, the law should be changed so that something as simple as nudity, or even taking a whiz publicly, does not result in such serious charges or being put on a "sex offender" list. Humanity has pretty much turned the body into a felony and needs to pull its head out of its collective ?ss to realize that there is no harm and nothing wrong with the nude body. A boy is dead because these people can't accept the fact that we all have skin and genitals. There is nothing automatically sexual about nudity and streaking, or peeing in public for that matter.
Well, out of fear and hysteria about sex, we created these laws and kids like this get snared in them. We did the same thing to witches and Jews. When will we learn. It is the Frankenstein syndrome all over again. The poor kid was afraid of pitch forks and torches from "good" people. Indeed, his life would have been ruined and he saw no other way out. If you don't like the law, write your congressman.
In some states urinating in public will indeed put you on the sex offender list. What is the difference between urinating in front of a kid off the side of a road or doing it at a urinal in a men's room?
Our youth need to realize their consequences in society. Streaking is not nudism nor is exhibitionism.
What is sad is that the principal didn't understand the entire framework of the youngster's mind. Perhaps a psychological evaluation of the offender and the letting them know he's a nudist and just wanted to celebrate may have gotten him off of such a list. Speaking with one of the national associations might have also helped.
Nudism, or as some call it naturism, builds self-esteem, accepting you for who you are, how you act, and what you say rather than what you look like, own, or wear. We need to realize that there are no ugly bodies. The body is just the vessel for the person.
It’s about de-stressing, relaxing, getting back to innocence. It’s like going barefoot all over. After a rough day and you take your shoes off….you know how good your feet feel? That’s the same way the rest of you feels when you disrobe.
It is well known that a feeling of wholeness, honesty and well being overcome people when they find themselves laughing and enjoying camaraderie with family and friends in a nude environment. The only difference between nudists and others is after a large meal, nudists have no belt to loosen.
We are lawyers, doctors, secretaries, accountants, engineers, models, teachers, government employees, clergy, mothers, fathers, teens, infants, taxi drivers, your neighbors, your friends. Most nudists are "clothed when practical, nude when possible."
Surveys have proven that except for fears derived from artificial cultural taboos, over 85% of all are at least sympathetic to nudists' beliefs.
I hope this enlightens any who may not understand our way of shedding tension, aggression, and anxiety (medically proven). We have a lower divorce rate and strong family ties. Youngsters growing up in a nudist environment have better body images and lower teen pregnancy rates.
The people who wanted to get him expelled and/or put on a sex offender list should be fired and charged with hate crimes. These people aren't just uncomfortable with people being human. They hate our species, our bodies, and what we simply are.
Being expelled is bad enough. That can be remedied. But being on a sex offender list ruins people's lives worse than throwing someone in jail for smoking a joint ever could.
Repeat after me... it's not a crime to be human! To look like one, or to even have to pee like one! I'm sorry if that offends some people, but get over it.

The principle sounds like a control-freak with little understanding of the kids.
This is outrageous in my opinion. "Streaking" or running naked in public, may be illegal or indecent, but it is NOT a sexual offense. Same with peeing in public.
Putting people on the sex offender registry for this kind of thing really defeats the purpose of HAVING a sex offender registry.
My thoughts are that you should improve your writing and learn proper word choice. I do not think streaking is a chargeable sex crime. I do not know why anyone would commit suicide over being charged with a crime that at most would have been a silly fine. Something else was involved in this case.
The Principal, Michael Campbell, stands self revealed as a humorless tyrant lacking in compassion, and quite likely a closeted sexual degenerate unable to deal with his personal issues. His hounding this boy to death should be prosecuted.
I am not an American,but do think its a shame how life seems to have such little value,when you kill yourself over something so petty ? Its not the first case like this I have heard.
It seems a shame they dont have anyone to talk to about such things. ?
