Is shellie zimmerman making the right decision?

She filed for divorce from her hubby. Could this be a sign that she knows that hubby killed an innocent person? Only intelligent answers please!

She's already admitted she believes his account of what happened. The divorce is for other reasons, mainly due to the fact that the aftermath of the shooting ruined their lives. George was found not guilty in a court of law, but in public opinion most folks feel he's guilty.

Whether or not you believe his story, he is a free man because there was not enough evidence to convict him and he presented reasonable doubt that made self defense plausible. However, he is damaged goods and the media presented him as a villain since day one.

He will be unlikely to work due to his notoriety, and any future income will likely come from lawsuits, settlements, donations etc. It will take years for this to blow over and he will really never lead a normal life and will be laying low for quite some time.

I wouldn't necessarily expect a marriage to survive a situation like this but people would be far more forgiving with Shellie. People will likely forever hate George. With that said, his ability to make a living is going to be tough. I can understand her divorcing him, and walking away. She doesn't have the stigma of shooting someone. She can make a new life, remarry, and live a public life with much less fear of threats.

George on the other hand does not. So, to me, she is playing pretty dirty here. She wants life insurance, the family pets, and a cut of ALL FUTURE income. So basically she would get a piece of the possible NBC lawsuit, book deals, etc.

Without him working any of that income would be essential for him to live safely, out of the public eye. Attempting to take a substantial portion of that is sad. Marriage is for better or for worse, things got tough for her and basically just wants out AND wants to leave him virtually penniless with no safe way to make income, and the option to profit from whatever he makes in the future. Ouch.

A simple divorce would not have made be feel that much different, but her demands are selfish.

We did not know the Zimmerman's before the shooting and the trial and its aftermath so we certainly can't know if this application for divorce is the right decision. The question people should be asking why is it our business to know .If we knew the Zimmerman's as family, friends or neighbours we would respect their right to privacy over this personal matter..Just because a person's name became a household word through no fault of their own does not mean their life should be exposed to the world due to morbid curiosity.

They were having problems from the start, it certainly explains her actions during the court case, she was probably hoping to leave town as soon as the guilty verdict came in. She took all their funds and put them in her private account and then she said they had no money, that's the playbook of a woman planning a divorce. Mark O'Mara is still representing George so I doubt she's going to get as much as she thinks from this, she won't see a dime of his settlement money from NBC and ABC so he'll likely end up a millionaire and she'll end up right back where she started.

I cannot comment on whether she is making the right decision. It is her marriage, not mine.

She cannot know that George committed murder, because it is clear from the physical and eyewitness evidence that he did not.

The Media/Government Circus surrounding the Zimmerman family has caused enough stress to break up almost any marriage. Living in fear for their lives, often not able to see or speak to each other, being harassed by the most outrageous lies and threats. Try coping with that and keeping a marriage healthy at the same time. It would have been miraculous if the marriage survived it, and it is another wrong to charged to the account of those who manipulated the case for their own massive profits.

George is a very lucky man as he was able to avoid being beat to death by a neighborhoodie, then avoided being crucified by the Media, now his wife who wanted all the funds transferred to her just because he was going to jail wants a divorce. Yes George is a very lucky man

Does it really matter? Regardless of what you think about Zimmerman, he deserves privacy as far as his private life is concerned. I really don't understand why the press is making such a big deal about this.

Yes, he's a fake.
