Hurricane sandy a sign the world will end?

I guess IM what you call a chicken this stuff scares me to no end this storm is just so out of the ordinary and IM starting to believe the world might end....

It's not exactly out of the ordinary. It's hurricane season lol. It's going to be very destructive and take many lives but it won't end the world nor is it a sign the world will end.

Trust me, I've driven myself insane about the whole 2012 apocalypse thing. Nights of no sleep, searching the internet. Theories such as a planet collision with "Nibiru" to polar shifts.

But they've all been debunked by NASA. PROFESSIONALS. One day our sun will turn into a red dwarf but that's thousands to millions of years away. By then we will be advanced enough to move to a new galaxy (rumors of NASA already working on it).

The world won't end. Our world is flawed and we can't expect it to be a clear sunny day everyday. Natural disasters will happen but it won't wipe out human kind.

Just please don't do anything drastic and please don't be afraid.

There have been people who commited suicide from fear of this.

This woman became famous for her made-up theory of the Annunuki visiting us back in May and she encouraged people to put their pets down so "they won't suffer". She then said in a radio interview "dog makes a good meal". She ate her dogs. Research it, I promise you it happened. Don't let the fear get to you.

I'm no expert. I've just been in your shoes.

Yes, it definitely is. If anything Hurricane Sandy is a warning of what is to come. You heard it yourself that this hurricane was the largest hurricane since the early 1900's, and also water levels have broken records that were set in the early 1800's. Not only that but it may take weeks to pump out water of the clogged transit system in the busiest place for commerce. Not only that, but the stock exchange is not running due to electrical problems, coincidentally at the same time our world is concentrating on money. This is a message, and not just a mere coincidence. Just a day before sandy an earthquake hit the west coast of north america (BC) on the richter scale of 7.7, a very rare occurance. These are signs, and take it if you will or wont. You do not have to prepare too much if you believe in a higher power such as aliens or even God, because when the time comes where buildings crumble you will know what to do.

Get up go outside a sniff the fresh air. I am 76 Years old and a bit cripped, I live in Southern NJ. Last night the Eye of th storm passed over my home with my wife and I inside. This morning I went out for a walk through the neighborhood.

Get up a live a little.

@@ Frankly my dear:-- Yes there was the Yankee Clipper huricane of 1938 in NYC I believe the death toll there was 7. The others were in other locations mostly in the Islands of the Carribean. Sandy is different because even though it was a Cat one, it mixed in with a Nor' Easter, then slammed into a Canadian Cold front, all this at the Jersey shore at Hi Tide and a Full Moon. The Atlantic City Boardwalk was hit by 20 to 30 foot waves. The water went to 13.5 feet in Battery Park in NYC which was the highest in history. Irene, last year raised it to 11.5 feet, the previous record. Check your history and don't cherry pick numbers.

Proud Vet

Hurricane Sandy was a category 1 hurricane. A much stronger hurricane (cat 3) struck NY in 1938, killing more than 600.

@Jersey Guy: You "believe" the death toll was 7.....instead of posting what you "believe", why not get the facts first. Check YOUR history, bud.

No it's part of a 7 year cycle of storms, just like major earthquakes usually occur every 60 or 100 years. It's just weather, I don't see it as an upcoming apocalypse.

It is kinda scary i'll give you that, but we need not to panic hurricanes happen all the time and remember your not crazy just because you ask the question deep down I betcha lots of people just won't admit that they sometimes wonder themselves about it

dude if a hurricane was a sign of the end of the world the world would have all ready ended because he have LOTS of hurricanes

IF you are living in FEAR over storms and bad weather, you are in serious need of religion and reality. There are many, many storms and not very many die. IF you following the warnings and get your butt out when they tell you to, most likely you will be fine.

No, that's what the guy wearing the clapboard with long grey hair holds in his hand.

it means nothing... its just another hurricane

I guess IM what you call a chicken this stuff scares me to no end this storm is just so out of the ordinary and IM starting to believe the world might end....
