It was done as a political statement, not just to kill the man, after all, whether he did plan 911 (very debatable) or not he would have had to answer questions which could have been very difficult for the Government.....there's enough conspiracy theories without any more help to fog the issue!
This was done purely to say to the world: we've done it, he's dead, forget it move on....typical US Gov move if you ask me.
Sorry but I have no sympathy for Osama Bin Laden. I do not care what opportunities there may have been to take him in peacefully they killed him instead and since I wasn't there I assume that was necessary and since you also were not why must you assume it wasn't? Did he give the workers in the towers any kind of trial? Allah has him and I am sure he is being treated now as he should be.
Wow really let me tell you playboy! I was in the army and one of those seals was one of my good friends and the reason why he didn't have a fair trail cuz Osama pulled a AK47 on the seals and he got shot along with with his son that was shooting too and the rest of the people in the building....So now you know what that ******* dumb *** didn't get a fair trail in court!!!
Let us say it was most convenient to kill him. I can't imagine a trial, the unnecessary costs that would arise from all security issues on courts and in prisons and off course the negative effect it would have had on Muslim population in particular...
I think it was a better thing because why if when they tried to capture him, he got away. Then what ? He planned 9/11 and should not have been around in my opinion
it is better to kill him than let him appear in tv and disclose many secret which may tarnish the image of usa govt.
so far, osama did not really admit that he was responsible for 911 .
it was media and usa govt who say that.
When it refers to Bin Laden don't use the words "fair trial" and "democracy" in the same paragraph.

Why would we need to put him in trial? There is absolutely no need to. Troops found him and killed him. Sounds perfect to me.

I understand that they had to stop him but I don't get why they couldn't just bring him in so that they could try him in a proper trial. I mean, I don't know how proper it would have been but at least he would have got one. Instead they just killed him. They didn't kill Saddam. They didn't kill Noriega. Why is that? And also I have to say that the fact that the Seals killed him instead of just capturing him makes it very suspicious for all those conspiracy theorists who say that Osama was never real.
Hell he was dead 10 years ago.
