I heard in a qoute him say " Elvis died when he went to the army"
He hated religion, more.
Imagine.
'Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too'
He was antiwar though I don't think he hated soldiers, I think he saw them as victims themselves in a way.
Lennon idolized Elvis in the early days, it inspired his own career in music. But when Elvis came back from army service he'd been overtaken by a new breed of musicians and lost some of his cool iconic status. In the 1970s practically everyone was panning Elvis for getting fat and doing shows in Vegas in those silly costumes. Plus all the bad movies he made.
Elvis wasn't as rebellious and anti authority as people probably thought he was, he did have a conservative streak.
Imagine an entire world living in peace… John saw the beauty and inherent good in humanity. I tried to do his legacy justice and channel his world-embracing and loving energy this week with a tribute portrait inspired by his music and his passion for changing the world. You can see this new work of art in memoriam on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/... along with some pictures showing how I created it. See John holding the Universe in his hand and spreading his message. When you stop by, let me know how his words and music have affected your life and creativity!
I think what John was referring to was the way that Elvis played his music .
John Lennon often dressed in a military style. He was know for dressing this way...so I really doubt that he hated soldiers.

He certainly hated war and what it does to people. His quote, like so many of his, was probably his being provocative with a sliver of truth.
No he just hated war!
Amateur ones, maybe. In his last seconds.
How was he on soldiers
