I don't have the answer to your question, but i'd just like to say well done! If you've managed to stop drinking and taking drugs, you're on the right track. I'm 24 and i spent the last 7, 8 years drinking and taking drugs. It's been around 7 months since i stopped everything and decided to get my **** together. I don't see myself going back to that lifestyle ever again.

All i can say is be strong, stay focused and take care of yourself. Your on the right track and you're going to be alright.

God bless, take care.

Go in your local council office and ask them if they have a list of estate agents who accept housing benefit, most of them do, and you probably won't even need your deposit as they are used to people that the council send down there not having any money. If they don't have a list, start going in some other council offices and asking them, a lot of them do as giving people that list qualifies as "helping you find housing" and means they can say they have fulfilled their legal obligations.

Lol, thought you were gna ask for a pound for a cup of Special Brew. (yeah you weren't fooling anyone with that old tea malarkey ;)

Good luck, sorry I can't help.

Hello world.

I'm here to see if anyone can offer any practical advice, which I might actually take. I've been sleeping rough for the past 3 years after being sexually abused at home. When I came to the streets, I started drinking heavily and ended up invovled in all kinds of things I didn't know existed.

Anyway, a year ago I met my wonderful boyfriend, who's helped me to see there's more to life and there is a way forward... So, I quit the drink and drugs, (maybe weed still) and for the past year we've been trying everything to get housed together so we can start a new life.

We've been offered several hostels which we've rejected... We don't want to end up back in a hostel, as there's far too much temptation to drink/use drugs.

10 years ago, when he became homeless, he shared a pot and ended up with Hep C. The hospital won't start his treatment until he's housed. He's starting to fall ill, and I'm not sure fi that's because he's been on the streets too long or if it's due to his condition. The doctors don't really care. The hospital's wrote a supportive letter to try assist us to get housed, but he's not in 'critical' condition, so it hasn't worked...

We have the deposit and the rent in advance to secure a place, we even have agency fees if there are any. We have a joint ESA claim and are able to claim housing benefit. The question is, does anyone know a landlord who'd take us?

We're kinda, the most undesirable people it seems... Street homeless. No guarantors. No work. I am hoping to start work as soon as we're housed, but as I've found previously, it's almost impossible to keep a job whilst living on the street.

So, anyone any ideas?

Oh, I'm 21 + he's 29.
