What puts puts women at risk for being abducted?

What puts them at risk (or anyone)....

1. Not being aware of their surroundings.

2. Being oblivious.

3. Not thinking defensively.

4. Putting themselves in dangerous situations/ wrong time-wrong place.

5. Being alone.

Tips....Some examples....

Be aware and not oblivious....don't be so wrapped up in talking on your cell or texting while walking along that you don't look up, look around, have any idea who is next to you, in front of you, walking behind you etc.

Think defensively....When walking along a sidewalk/ hallway etc....walk down the 'middle' or on the safe open side. Don't brush against the edge along a hedge or dark bushes or up against the wall and dark doorways....you've no idea what/ who might be behind the hedge/ bush or doors.

When getting in your car in a parking lot don't get in your driver door when someone in the car next to you is getting in/ opening their passenger door or are out of their car messing around near their passenger side. What do you want to be trapped for in that small space between your car and theirs with a total stranger? For someone to abduct you they have to be close enough to touch/ grab you don't give strangers a chance to get that close.

Don't put yourself in danger.....

Don't go to a concert or something with girlfriends have an argument then go off by yourself with no reliable way home.

Don't go out partying to the bar, get drunk and leave with a strange guy or guys you just met. It's not safe and he's no doubt drunker than you and your judgment is impaired.

Don't drive by yourself on a long trip without a map a GPS or enough gas.

These sound simple but these are the ways people get abducted, robbed, mugged etc.

You should also put this question in the ....'police and law enforcement' section of Yahoo Answers....No doubt they can recommend law enforcement sites that cover this for you.

Get a man in your life. That's kind of the purpose of having a husband, to be a protector.

90% of women abducted are single or divorced.

Do not walk alone at night.

Do not walk alone through a parking garage at night.

Do not go to an ATM machine at night.

Do not stop to help ANYONE, EVER...this is how Ted Bundy, the serial killer, caught women and killed them in the daytime.

Their beautuful duh....

I am a woman and my 20's and I keep reading all of the stories on the news about women getting abducted and kidnapped. I do not want for this to happen to me. Does anyone have any tips or know where I can read more about this? I keep searching "how to prevent abduction" and all I get are stories about alien abduction. Thanks.
