Life would be sustainable and growing crops like "Hemp" would supply fibre for ropes, canvas, cloth, and the plants seeds would produce valuable oils.
My wife is a "Chartered Herbalist" so at least one part of the field as well a parts of the woods would be converted into a living Apothecary.
Medicine, food, clothing, shelter, water would all be taken care of.
However .... any nuclear attack would more than likely be a carrier for an EMP attack. Nuclear fallout would probably negligible.
Form a gang and dress in leather and pieces of automobile tires. Then we would terrorize the local highways and towns.
You know, regular stuff.
i would just want to see the fabulous sites and fires and rubble. When I got tired of that I would go to McDonald's and get a double burger, fries and large coke.

drive around, find the coolest cars i could, collect as much gasoline as i could, and basically drive expensive cars until i died of cancer 2 weeks later.
