Children go missing much more often than reported on the news - mostly they are taken by one parent or the other when a relationship or marriage has fallen apart (it's much less likely that they were taken by a stranger for creepy reasons).
I think the news of a missing child is released to law enforcement across many states, but maybe not in the general media news unless there is cause to believe whoever took the child might be heading someplace else.
I am not an American, but I thought that was why you had the FBI ? (Federal Bureau of Investigation.) Federal refering to a "Federation of states" They have authority to act across all states. So any crime or missing child etc in one state will show up on the FBI offices in all.
depends
Say a child went missing in Florida. Would people in states like Texas hear about it?
I ask because not too long ago we had a child go missing (Caylee Anthony) an my friend that was visiting from another state hadn't heard about it until she came here. So if a child goes missing in one state does it show up in another?
