Hi, I thought I could answer your question with a simple Silver Lining's Playbook. It's my FAVORITE movie and it won all those oscars, which isn't always saying much but they got it right that time. However after perusing your previously seen movies I'm thinking you haven't watched anything that's been filmed since before Bush was elected and you want an older movie. I can't do old but maybe try silver linings, it's witty in the way it's been deconstructed and gives you everything you want in a romance movie without presenting it in the order and cliched -Sally -meets -Bridget -Jones's corny cute meet way. They cast is awesome and the story is original and you it shows you don't always have to be clinically healthy to find your happiness. I love it. Good luck. No death or anything! It's a pick me up for sure. Although too have issues... So maybe it's esoteric in that since, but still a good movie for anyone. Ok. Good luck.
