What does killing the man earn society?
There are arguments for the death penalty - as a response to premeditated murder with chance of reoffending, but there is no excuse for causing undue pain in terminating that life.
Should we force a criminal to submit to a painful execution, the process turns from one of removing the person from society to a bloodthirsty act of revenve. Revenge is not justice.

The latest news includes the story of a man who was convicted of killing a woman in 1983 . Now he weighs 480 pounds, and he's scheduled to be executed in a few months . His lawyer is claiming that trying to execute him "will result in serious physical and psychological pain to him, as well as a torturous and lingering death" . He was all big and bad when he killed this woman, and now when it's HIS turn to die, he figures he gets to be a whimpering baby . He didn't give his victim a choice, so why should he get one ? If he was man enough to kill somebody, he's man enough to be executed . So what if his execution causes him severe physical and psychological pain ? Did he consider the pain he inflicted on his victim or his victim's family ? This killer claims that his executioners might have difficulty finding a suitable vein for injection and he would break any gurney used in his execution with his unusual weight . Why not hang him or give him a bullet in the head ? If he was able to gain that much weight while he was in prison, they're feeding prisoners too well . They should put him on a diet of two crackers and a glass of water a day AND make him do exercises for four hours a day . That way, he'll be all ready to serve his sentence like a man . Why does he deserve any better ? Why should a convected killer get a break ? Thank you in advance for your answers .
