They stopped showing music videos on the main channel completely in 2010 and they just put out reality shows now and endless repeats of south park. They launched a new channel called MTV Music which shows music videos, but it's not like it was in it's heyday. Not really sure what made it go downhill, I guess they just ran out of money to manage it properly.
They are there to entertain, nothing educational comes out of it what so ever. The only thing I watch on mtv is True Life & maybe Catfish. But yeah, MTV stands for Music Television..but they show more reality shows then videos in my opinion.
Believe it or not their target audience and most of the people that watch MTV now love "shows" like that. I don't get it either, MTV should change their name and get the Music out of the title because there is very little music even played on the channel and it's usually on when most are sleeping.
It gets figures on TV.
Hi I notice on MTV now there are lots of reality shows like Gordie Shore, The valleys, Jersey Shore, and now beauty school cop outs. What's going on??
