my money is on a combination of mossad and the neo-cons using Islamic fundamentalists sick of American imperialism to physically carry out the attacks, but unless there is a public inquiry we will never know, whichever way you look at it though it is the fault of the American government for not keeping its citizens safe, they knew they had enemies in the middle east but did nothing to prevent these extremists from taking flying lessons on US soil! this is poor management or corruption either way they should be made to defend themselves in a public trial, the Americans are far to trusting of their government, its almost religious the way they back them, its unhealthy.

Watch the documentary 'a noble lie' if you can, its about the oklahoma bombing which happened shortly before 9/11, the level of government cover up and corruption was unparalleled, watching this i cannot understand how the American public can ever trust their government.

It was a terrorist group that, yes Bin Laden headed, Al Qaeda by name, got religious fanatics to do 'the deed'. It was timed to be on 9/11 because that date is an aniversary of a massacre of Islamic peoples historically (that was blamed on the infidels ... i.e. non-Islamic individuals).

I still don't understand all the dynamics, but it was definitely planned and carried out by Islamic terrorists.
