Also, if you don't mind subtitles, I *strongly* recommend the Korean series BOYS OVER FLOWERS, also streaming on Netflix and available on the Dramafever site as well. It's really a well-acted series about a working-class teen girl who is offered the opportunity to attend the most prestigious boarding school for the super-rich, and her clash with a quartet of rich guys (called flower boys because they're young and attractive). Korean series tend to be a bit more melodramatic than American series, but Boys Over Flowers works with the melodrama really well.
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (and its darker, more adult spinoff ANGEL) is a teen series from I think the 1990s that is *amazing* and has all of the supernatural elements you could want. Vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, and more. It's about a high school girl who is discovered to be a "special" slayer of evil baddies and focuses a lot as well on her friendships and relationships.
THE SECRET CIRCLE was also pretty good, focusing on witches.
well have you tried anime shows?is there a boy you like Naruto but if your girl I recommend Fruits Basket shugochara Tokyo Mew Mew oh and the biggest one that I love soul eater you'll really like that one also just a quick note to add the soul eater and Shugo Chara are the best ones that a teenager should like I should know because I'm a teenager myself and you're going to love it trust me
try watching The OC and One Tree Hill, the'yre both really good :)
