This question has merit.
You have a very good point.
However, since both are manufactured threats then at some point, another would only emerge to take their place.
For example, how many have heard about the Selecka?
Or CAR? (not a vehicle but a country; Central African Republic)
Give it time, you and others will. They will be yet another reason why the US must bomb or invade another African nation and do "humanitarian" work. No doubt the US media will spin yet another terrorist threat to Americans.
ISIS would not be a problem if we hadn't invaded Iraq in the first place. Hussein was a murderous douche bag, but his government stabilized the area and wasn't a threat to us. By the time bin Laden had been killed, his influence in Al-Qaeda had pretty much been neutralized. His difficulty in communicating and the death of his subordinates and cut him out of the terrorist loop.
ISIS has nothing to do with Osama Bin Laden. Even Al-Qaida doesn't have any relations with ISIS because they think they're so crazy.
ISIS has nothing to do with Bin Laden.
Even when we killed Bin Laden, his influence in Al Qaeda had already greatly declined because he had been in hiding for so long.
I'm sure there are many of the Muslim terrorists who just disappear when the current group is getting pounded & pop-up later in some other group. We have probably been fighting some of the same guys for twenty years...
Bush43 caused IS to form. Mission Accomplished.
If,,,and,,,,was,,,,pointless as all answers, must be fantasies.
This might be a dumb question, but would ISIS have been as big a problem as it is if Osama Bin Laden was never killed?
