All those violent things you are talking about are done on purpose to show how bad and messed up humanity is -it's not supporting them. And overall, it's based on British and human history. It's very realistic. I think it's the realism that really grabs people, because this is a fantasy world, but the people act just like regular human beings. The characters are really in-depth and complex, and nothing is black-or-white.
It's also based of a series of books.
That being said, of course you are entitled to your own opinion! And it's not for everyone (especially the faint of heart). But look more closely at it before you write it off completely. It's deeper than it comes off as at first. I personally adore it.
It's a big splashy fantasy that very soon loses all importance and starts using graphic violence, sex etc. It's well acted but meaningless for me also. I;m a writer, actor and stage director. Don't see it ay all.
The show display qualities that most woman are very interested in. It's shocking, exciting, and challenging them to come play in it's world. The show is complex with a rich back ground. It's a serialized t.v. show. The more you invested in it, the more it give back to you. Mostly in misery. However, ever now and then it toss you a happy moment or two. Then it rips it away. Only to give it back at some other unknown time. A real teaser. It's understand what most woman really need, what they are attracted to, and gives it to them hard. Drama, unpredictability, fun and being a challenge.
Why do guys like it? Boobs, and violence. Also has dragons, who mother show us her boobs.
This is why the show is rocking the rating, and why it's so successful. If it went too far it would of been cancel. No, it knows what people really want, makes them beg, and then give them just enough.
The other qualities that you didn't like is base on real life events. Heck, Westeros is base on British history. That's part of the show appeal. It's a fantasy show with a real gritty edge to it.
The people who rated the show did not really think about them killing children and stuff like that when rating it.
They rated the show based on they think it is like an action porno. That is why the ratings are high.
They are looking at the overall story line, not the small bad scenes.
sex , sex , violence
I don't bad mouth shows or anything, but I was curious to all the hype of Game of Thrones, so I watched the first episode of it and I just didn't like it. It bothered me on how the way it treated women...I'm one of those types of guys that respects women too much and acting or not I don't like to see women mistreated. It felt like it was just using the women on the show for sexual content. That men would do to them as they pleased and nothing could stop them from doing so. And that bothers me...because of the violence towards them and the hype of the show just makes it disappointing that they could carry this type of thing that many seasons and people would still watch it. The violence although gory isn't the worst I've seen in films/shows but it is up there. The evil put into that episode from the rape scene to them murdering children with no remorse, shows that they can put anything on tv now a days. People watch what they want to watch though, just like actors/actresses act in what they want, you can't change peoples minds on things. The reviews for this show is mixed, but from every one I seen they are fans of the show backlashes people for their opinions and comments on it. I was just wondering if they are people out there that feels this show is way too much, or went way too far with the way they treat people on it. And please no hate messages on here, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but how they use those opinions is what matters.
