In the overall scheme of things is minor and not worth worrying about
Based on the first release of the story on Yahoo News, the scenario was, A grown man, followed (Stalked) a young boy (was originally posted that he was 13 not 17) who was walking home from the store. The boy seen him being followed and ran. The man chased the kid, cornered him and the kid fought back. The man pulls out a gun and shoots the boy. The man appointed himself the neighborhood watchman with no official ties to the actual committee. The police come and the man says he shot the boy in self defense and is no longer needed. They let him walk away with his gun. Any other person would have been taken down to the station and questioned thoroughly and/or arrested. The police say that there was proof that the man defended himself against the kid, even though Zimmerman was the antagonist in the situation. Now they are throwing FL laws left and right to help this man stay out of jail. I'm glad that the feds are involved now though. They might not be able to get things done completely but it's out of the hands of the incompetent police of that area. I really believe that Zimmerman should have at least been brought to the station and questioned, having his statement tied to the dispatch tape, the witness statements and the evidence at the scene. None of it went down like it was supposed to. Shame.
Angry.
The blase attitude of the police, police chief, attorney general, and the mayor is just disgusting.
Even the state level officials should share some of this blame.
If you see something that's wrong, you speak up about it and do something. The mayor attorney generals, etc. all knew about this shooting and the failure of the police to do anything about it yet they too remained silent.
Is it any surprise then that the federal authorities felt they had to step in and get involved? Does everyone realize how bad the situation must be in Sanford and Florida to require the intervention of the FBI and federal prosecutors? This should have remained a local tragedy that never should have made it beyond the local nightly news!
It's sickening that a young man could be shot in cold blood simply by walking back from a convenience store to his own house.
I am glad the grand jury is going to investigate; doesn't sound like the cops did.
You would think in this day and age there would be an end
to racism, But it still exists in the hearts and minds of dumb
individuals. Being a Jew I also experienced racism. My mothers
tombstone was knocked over and a red swastika was painted
on it. Zimmerman is guilty as all hell, no doubt about it.
I am extremely saddened by this. He was an innocent young boy who didn't do anything wrong. Idk how anyone could say it was self defense when they have audio of poor Trayvon screaming for his life.. My heart is broken over this. My heart goes out to Trayvon's family. The guy who did it deserves to rot in jail.
It just proves how far down this country is going.
The story is going to end up just like Troy Davis's... 3
I Just want your view on it.
