Update 2 = that's more common in the first season...there is the general thread of 'we need to find dad' but that doesn't really permeate the tone of the episodes...season 4 onwards is where the storyline gets a bit heavy though they do have some amazing standalone episodes i.e. 4x05 Monster Movie and 4x06 Yellow Fever
Update 3 = if you watch all the episodes it's not that complicated. Maybe season 6 and 8 are the most complicated as they struggle to have a main storyline although this issue is resolved in around tenth episodes where they start to form the main story that we follow for the rest of the season (again there are standalones within this)
Sorry - this answr was probably confusing lol...and really badly written :P
But the show is so awesome - so I really hope you're enjoying it so far. It's currently on season 10 on still pretty damn wonderful :)
no
there will be different "teams" and alliances that form (can't really say more without spoiling it)
and of course there are some back stabbing and double crossing and a few double agents in the alliances
and of course there are a few "what the hell are the writers thinking" moments ?
but they usually work out
there are some issues and plots that drag on too long, but also some that are resolved way too early
In my opinion the series should have finished at the end at season 5
(with one small change, but of course I can't go into that)
I still think the show is good
it's just that ...
wel, I really can't say without giving anything away
it's definitely worth watching
it neither gets too complicated where you have trouble keeping track of all the intrigue and varied plots nor too easy where it's just "monster of the week" every episode
let's say it's less complicated than the X-files with all it's plots, cover ups, and motives
actually the x-files is a pretty good comparison for what I think is wrong with supernatural
you know how the xfiles is all about Maulder's search for aliens driven by "seeing" his sister taken, but because the show was so popular and they didn't want to end it they kept it going and in later years it kinda goes off track ?
that's pretty much exactly what goes on with supernatural
still a great show
still some great monster of the week episodes,
still some great "brother love and drama"
still some great season long story arcs
but ...
I think it starts getting complicated around season 5, all the other seasons before it are pretty straight forward
yes, but it is a fantastic tv show :)
I m on Season 1 of the show now but I heard it starts to get complicated. In season 1 they just fight demons and that, but later in the show does that stop and start to get complicated? I can t really explain what I mean but yeah..
