I watched the entire first season. Since everyone was going on about it, I thought I would give it that much. But I'm like you. I found it a little boring, predictable (yes, even the Red Wedding, I haven't even watched to season 3 and I guessed what happened) and I never got into it. Then again, I'm a little strange. I never got into Breaking Bad either. That one I gave a season as well.
I love it, try finishing the first season before you give up on it. I was bored the first time I tried to watch it, but I gave it another chance and I'm addicted now and it does take some time for the story to progress.
