We get most of those shows you listed there, and I don't know where you're hearing that us Brits think they're rubbish , because most of those are very popular over here.

Big Bang Theory is huge over here. It's on TV about twice every day, and has been for the past 2-3 years. I got a Sheldon Cooper necklace infact xD
The american shows that many people view as bad are often remakes of english shows such as The Inbetweeners or Skins. Many of the very popular american shows are popular in england such as the ones you listed same as how popular english shows are popular in america like Sherlock or Downton Abbey x
Reality shows are awful. IMO
